We use your personal information to process and fulfil your membership and orders, send you service communications including weekly order notifications, specials updates, delivery reminders, and order confirmations via WhatsApp Business or SMS, manage your account and membership renewal, process payments securely, respond to your enquiries and provide customer support, comply with our legal obligations, and improve our Services.
We may also use your information for marketing purposes such as newsletters and promotions, but only where you have explicitly opted in to receive these. You can withdraw this consent at any time by emailing hello@brancasterseafoodclub.com.
Third Parties We Share Your Information With
SHOPIFY — our website and store platform. Shopify processes your data to power the Services. See the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy for details. SHOPIFY PAYMENTS — processes all card payments. We do not see or store your full card details. SEAL SUBSCRIPTIONS — manages your annual membership billing and renewal. INKTHREADABLE — used to fulfill and deliver any purchases from our merchandise store. WHATSAPP BUSINESS (META) — used to send you weekly service messages including specials and delivery updates. Meta processes data in accordance with their own privacy policy. GMAIL (GOOGLE) — used by our team for internal communications and customer support emails. Google processes data in accordance with their privacy policy. LEGAL AND REGULATORY AUTHORITIES — where required by law.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
Service Communications vs Marketing
We make a clear distinction between two types of communication.
SERVICE COMMUNICATIONS — weekly specials, order confirmations, delivery reminders, and membership updates — are sent via email, WhatsApp Business or SMS and are a condition of your membership. They are not marketing and do not require a separate opt-in.
MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS — newsletters, promotions, and other non-essential content — require your explicit consent and you can opt out at any time by emailing hello@brancasterseafoodclub.com.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services and comply with our legal obligations. ACTIVE MEMBERS: data is retained for the duration of your membership. FORMER MEMBERS: data is deleted 12 months after your membership ends. PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS: data is deleted 12 months after your initial enquiry if you do not join.
Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your information, object to or restrict how we process your information, receive a copy of your information in a portable format, and withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time.
